Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault, False Imprisonment After Report of Domestic Disturbance

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At about 10:15am this morning, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Jeep Street near Calhoun in response to a report of a domestic disturbance involving an assault against a woman. Deputies arrived and met with the victim who told the officers she’d been physically assaulted and held against her will by her husband for several hours this morning. The deputies observed that the victim’s clothing had been torn and that she had visible injuries. She’d escaped from the house and ran to a neighbor who called 911. The deputies had noticed that an Adairsville Police patrol car was in the yard and learned that the woman’s husband was a police officer. When the deputies approached the house and identified themselves, the husband initially refused to leave the house, but a deputy eventually managed to convince him to come outside. The husband, identified as one Nathan Lee Henderson, age 35, of 212 Jeep Street, Calhoun, was arrested and transported to the county jail. Detectives have interviewed a number of witnesses and collected physical evidence. The woman’s injuries were not life threatening, and detectives have reason to believe that alcohol played a part in this incident. Henderson has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Battery, and False Imprisonment (Family Violence Act offenses).
