Sheriff Ralston Appoints Georgia Sheriff’s Association Executive Director as Deputy Sheriff of Gordon County
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
Mr. Terry Norris, Executive Director of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Association, was appointed as Gordon County’s newest deputy sheriff yesterday. Sheriff Mitch Ralston appointed Mr. Norris , who is a Georgia P.O.S.T. certified peace officer, as a regular (volunteer) deputy. Mr. Norris has served the Sheriffs’ Association for over 20 years and is currently the Executive Director. Mr. Norris oversees the day to day operations of the Sheriff’s Association, and is liaison to many other government organizations and private entities. State Representative John Meadows joined Sheriff Ralston for the swearing-in ceremony. Sheriff Ralston said, “Terry is a wonderful asset for the Sheriffs’ Association and also for our community. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise on the office of sheriff to the table, and myself and many other Georgia sheriffs call on him often. I am also fortunate to have John Meadows as not only a great supporter of mine, but also a great supporter of all the Georgia sheriffs”.
