9th Annual Sheriff’s Auxiliary Youth Football Clinic a Great Success

Saturday, July 15th saw Sheriff Mitch Ralston and the Sheriff’s Auxiliary host the Ninth Annual Youth Football Clinic at the Calhoun Recreation Center. Forty kids spent the morning learning the fundamentals of the game, with an emphasis on playing safely and effectively. A large number of volunteers: college players, high school players, high school coaches, and Sheriff’s staff members joined the Sheriff and Auxiliary in making Saturday a successful day. The Sheriff especially thanked Coach Eric Rigney of Calhoun for providing all of the equipment, the Calhoun Recreation Department for the use of the field, and AOSM for ‘goody bags’ for the participants. Sheriff Ralston said, “This year we had another wonderful Annual Youth Football Clinic. The kids had a great time and learned about the game. A big ‘thanks’ to all the parents who entrusted their children to us, and also a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all the selfless volunteers from the teams, the school system, our sponsors, and the Auxiliary who not only make the Clinic possible, but have made them successful for the past nine years.”
