Additional Firearms Safety/Familiarization Training Classes For Gordon County Citizens Scheduled

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Announces:

Due to the overwhelming response from the public to the announcement of Firearms Safety/Familiarization training for adult Gordon County residents, an additional training day has been scheduled for May 14th, 2016. The announcement of the March 26th class resulted in all available spaces being filled within a few hours. The training will consist of basic firearms safety practices, Georgia firearms related laws, and a practical use session on the Sheriff’s Office firing range. The 4 hour training session is offered to Gordon County residents for free. Participants should bring their firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition. There will be a morning session from 9am until 12 noon, and an afternoon session from 1pm to 4pm. To pre-register for the May 14th class, call Major Mike Jones at 706.879.5494 or 706.629.1244. Sheriff Ralston said that he and his training staff are very excited to host and provide this service to local residents, free of charge, and anticipates that participants will find the training both informative and enjoyable.
