Beware of Telephone Scammers Posing as Gordon County Deputies

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

The Sheriff’s Office has received complaints from Gordon County citizens who’ve received telephone calls from a male individual(s) who claims to be a Gordon County deputy sheriff. The caller has identified himself as both a captain (“Henson“) as well as the chief deputy (“Paris“). The caller purports to have “court papers”, or asks the person answering to “post a bond”. This caller is a fraud and the calls are not connected to the Sheriff’s Office. Investigating officers believe the scammer(s) to have found the names of senior Sheriff’s staff members from the internet. Citizens are urged to disregard any such calls and especially to NEVERĀ reveal any personal information to the caller. The Sheriff’s Office does not conduct court related business, or solicit any type of funds by telephone.
