Calhoun Woman Arrested After Man is Stabbed in Domestic Disturbance
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
At approximately 8:50 pm, Saturday night April 13, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to 168 Hines Road near Calhoun in response to a report of a man having been stabbed. The deputies arrived and found that a male resident had indeed been stabbed in the abdomen. The victim was removed from the scene to nearby Gordon Hospital by ambulance, and subsequently flown by helicopter to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee for further treatment. He is believed to be in stable condition. Witnesses told detectives that the victim had been stabbed by his daughter in law after an argument. Investigating officers believe that alcohol played a part in this event. Detectives conducted a search of the crime scene and recovered the knife believed to have been used in the assault. After interviewing eyewitnesses, detectives were searching through the neighborhood and arrested Judy Shepherd a/k/a Lee Ann Shepherd, age 29, of 168 Hines Road after she was found hiding in a nearby home. She was taken into custody without incident and charged with Aggravated Assault. She was free on bond in connection with a previous methamphetamine charge at the time of her arrest, and remains in jail pending bond proceedings.
