Dalton Man Arrested For Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Firearms Offenses

At about 10 p.m. Wednesday night, December 4th, deputy sheriffs and state troopers stopped a suspicious automobile at the intersection of State Route 225 and Interstate 75 near Calhoun. A subsequent search of the car by the officers revealed several ounces of methamphetamine, other chemicals, scales, US currency, and a handgun. The driver, Jonathan Paul Williams, age 28, of 118 Revnea Drive, Dalton, Georgia, was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and other drug related offenses as well as firearms related offenses. A passenger, one Alesha Marie Nicholson, age 26, of 69 Cagle Road, Chatsworth, Georgia, was also arrested without incident and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of a Firearm During The Commission of a (Drug) Crime. Both defendants remain incarcerated in the county jail pending bond.
