Deputies Arrest Illinois Man For Marijuana Trafficking

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At about 9 am Tuesday morning, February 25th, a deputy sheriff on routine patrol on Interstate 75 near Resaca stopped a suspicious automobile for a traffic violation. A subsequent search of the interior of the car revealed several pounds of processed marijuana packaged for resale, and a large amount of US currency. The driver, Christopher G. Williams, age 26, of Cairo, Illinois, was arrested at the scene without incident. The marijuana was taken into custody as evidence and the cash was seized to be condemned in Superior Court proceedings. Williams was charged with Trafficking in Marijuana and is being held in the county jail pending bond.
