Deputies Discover ‘Rolling Meth Lab’, Arrest Two
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
Saturday morning, July 13, deputy sheriffs stopped a suspicious automobile near the intersection of Riverbend Road/Moores Ferry Road near Plainville. The deputies noticed a harsh chemical odor within this car and conducted a search of the interior. The search revealed a portable, or “rolling” methamphetamine “lab”. This method is used by people concocting methamphetamine and utilizes the motion of the vehicle to mix the ingredients. Deputies arrested the occupants and summoned specially trained sheriff’s detectives to the scene to collect the evidence and dispose of the dangerous chemicals. Deputies charged Ashley Nichole Sims, age 25, of Crestview, Florida and Cody Clifford Fowler, age 21, of Adairsville, Georgia with Criminal Attempt to Manufacture, Trafficking, and Possession, of Methamphetamine. Both were lodged in the county jail pending bond proceedings.
“Rolling labs” are extremely volatile and very dangerous to anyone who may be near the automobile, as there is an ever – present danger of the ingredients exploding.
