Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At about 10:30am Monday morning, September 16, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Nickelsville Road near Resaca regarding a burglary. The victim reported that his house had been forcibly entered and a wide variety of tools were stolen. The victim was able to provide an accurate description of a possible suspect to the deputies. At approximately 2:30pm, deputies found an automobile fitting the suspect description on Clark Loop near Resaca. There, the deputies approached the owner of the car and searched the vehicle. When the deputies discovered the stolen property in the trunk, the suspect, subsequently identified as one Michael Andrew Hermann, age 24, of 14 Millis Stone Road, Fairmount, Georgia, attempted to flee on foot. The deputies quickly subdued Hermann, who was charged by detectives with Residential Burglary. The stolen property was returned to the rightful owner. Investigating detectives said that Hermann was recently paroled from the Department of Corrections for a theft related offense. Hermann remains incarcerated in the county jail.
