Fugitive Couple Wanted For Robbery Arrested Near Sugar Valley After Automobile Chase

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At about 11:30 am today (September 6), sheriff’s detectives were dispatched to Sugar Valley regarding a suspicious vehicle after a concerned citizen notified E911. The caller knew that deputy sheriffs had been looking for a similar automobile in connection with a residential burglary in the same area last week. Sheriff’s detectives responded and immediately apprehended one of the occupants, subsequently identified as one Warren Brewer, age 40, of Riverdale, Georgia. He was taken into custody without resistance. However, the female drive fled the scene in the car. Moments later she was found on nearby Hall Memorial Road by a uniformed deputy sheriff. A chase ensued when she refused to stop. The deputy and a state trooper from the local state patrol post ‘boxed’ in the suspect vehicle in and forced it to a stop. The driver, subsequently identified as one Lisa Marie Russell, age 38, of Tunnell Hill, Georgia was then arrested without further incident. The car was found to have been reported stolen from Richmond County, Georgia in August. Deputies also found that the couple were both wanted by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office on Robbery charges. Detectives removed the car to the Sheriff’s Office and obtained a search warrant for the contents. Detectives have reason to believe the pair have been involved in crimes in Gordon County. Detectives also acquired a warrant to search a local motel room in connection with this case. Both Brewer and Russell remain incarcerated in the county jail. The investigation is ongoing and more charged are expected to be filed by detectives.
