Jail Inmate Death, Foul Play Not Suspected

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

At approximately 6:30 a.m. this morning (January 13), jail staff discovered a female jail inmate in an unresponsive condition in her cell. Emergency medical personnel were quickly summoned to the jail and arrived within minutes. They administered aid and transported her to the hospital where she was subsequently pronounced dead. The inmate is identified as Brandy Nichole Dean, age 34, whose last known address was 689 Chatsworth Highway. She had been jailed on August 27, 2020 on charges of Simple Battery (Family Violence), and Obstructing an Emergency Call. The investigation into her death is being led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), as is the case in all in-custody deaths. The investigating officials do not believe that any foul play was involved.
