Large Shipment of THC Oil Intercepted Resulting in 3 Arrests for Drug and Weapons Charges

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

On Tuesday, January 9th, Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit personnel initiated an investigation into the illegal sale/distribution of THC oil being shipped into Gordon County. A package discovered containing several hundred individual units for resale was intercepted with the cooperation of a commercial carrier. On Wednesday, January 10, the package was delivered in a covertly controlled manner and a search warrant was executed at the residence to which the shipment was delivered. The execution of the search warrant resulted in the arrests of three (3) persons: Ramon Reyes, age 45, Jose Reyes Vazquez, age 21, and Mason Khalid Reyes, age 18, all of 122 Louise Lane, Calhoun, Georgia. The search also netted a number of illegally held firearms including two AK47 style weapons, as well as other evidence of drug distribution.  All of the defendants were charged with Possession of THC With Intent to Distribute and other drug-related offenses, as well as weapons offenses. The package is believed to have originated in California. Troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 43 assisted Sheriff’s Office personnel with the execution of the search warrant, and the Calhoun Police K9 Unit was instrumental in the investigation. The defendants remain in jail pending judicial proceedings.
