Local Man Arrested For Rape
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
On January 28th the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault against a young woman in Sonoraville. An investigation was initiated by the Sheriff’s Detective Division which has resulted in the arrest of Aaron Levi Trumbull, age 19, of 9074 Fairmount Highway. The investigation revealed that the incident occurred inside the fire station at Sonoraville in the early morning hours. Detectives understand that Trumbull was an applicant for a ‘paid-per-call’ position in the County Fire Department, but had not completed the hiring process. Detectives also understand that Trumbull did not have permission to enter the fire station, which is not manned around the clock. Detectives have interviewed a number of witnesses and collected physical evidence. Trumbull was arrested Thursday evening at the Sheriff’s Office and subsequently charged with Rape. He is currently being held in jail pending bond proceedings.
