Longtime Jail Minister Celebrates 28 Years of Service

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

Longtime Jail minister, pastor, and Gordon County resident Joe Hall reached an impressive milestone recently. He is celebrating his twenty eighth year serving as a minister to county jail inmates. Reverend Hall, affectionately known as “Brother Joe” to the GCSO staff, began ministering to inmates in 1994, under former Sheriff Sid Roberts in the old jail on Piedmont Street. Joe continued his ministry, serving and adapting to new administrations and new facilities. Over the past 28 years, he has reached out to hundreds, if not thousands of inmates. He has provided spiritual support for many people, and often saw the positive results of many who’ve turned their lives around. Brother Joe also pastors Ranger Baptist Church. Sheriff Mitch Ralston described him as “an eternal optimist, devoted to the Lord, and always seeing the good in everyone. I want to sincerely thank Joe, as well as his wife Pat for her support, for tending to the spiritual well being of the inmates for so long. He is an inspiration, and I look forward to him continuing his ministry for many years to come.”
