Methamphetamine Distribution Investigation Results in Two Arrests For Drug Trafficking, Other Offenses

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

In mid October, 2016, Sheriff’s detectives initiated an undercover investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine from a private residence on Town Creek Drive in the Newtown community in unincorporated Gordon County. Detectives spent many man-hours conducting covert surveillance, and made an undercover purchase of over $3000.00 (‘street’ value) worth of processed methamphetamine at the home. On Friday, November 4th, detectives and other deputy sheriffs executed a search warrant at the residence in question at 204B Town Creek Drive. There, detectives found more methamphetamine buried in hay bales. Officers also seized illegally held firearms from the home. Detectives arrested two men: Charles Robert Baker, age 50, of the same address, and Carl Douglas Towe, age 48, of 694 Buttram Road, Adairsville. Baker has been charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and other drug related charges, as well as firearms related offenses. Towe was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine. Both were apprehended without incident and lodged in the county jail.
