Murray County Woman Arrested in Connection With Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, Accomplice Still Being Sought By Deputies

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

On Tuesday morning, May 10th, Sheriff’s detectives were near Fairmount following a lead regarding an April, 2014 burglary in the Ranger community. The detectives had been seeking 2 suspects whose images had been captured on the victim’s security camera. The detectives recognized the suspects loitering suspiciously at a residence near State Route 53. As the detectives called for ‘back up’ from uniformed deputy sheriffs, the male and female suspects fled the scene in an automobile, travelling at a high rate of speed, onto Highway 53 and then onto Slate Mine Road. The suspects temporarily evaded the detectives, drove behind a vacant home, abandoned their car and fled into a heavily wooded area on foot. After the suspects fled on foot, a number of deputy sheriffs were deployed into the area to search for them. A Sheriff’s Office K9 unit followed a track for some distance before the trail ended at a creek. The Sheriff’s Office Air Unit also responded and coordinated search efforts using a helicopter. Deputies stopped at residences along Slate Mine Road and asked residents to be on the lookout for the suspects. Deputies concentrated on the area for several hours until the onset of severe thunderstorms in the afternoon, when the female suspect, subsequently identified as one Jamie Priest, age 39, of 542 Davis Road, Chatsworth, Georgia, came out of the woods and was reported to the Sheriff’s Office by residents. Deputies arrested her near the scene without further incident. The car in which she and her accomplice had fled was found to have been reported stolen some time earlier from Murray County. Priest has been charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree in connection with the April, 2014 incident, and Receiving Stolen Property regarding the stolen automobile. She is lodged in the county jail pending bond proceedings. Deputy sheriffs are still seeking her accomplice, identified as Timothy Junior Pack. Authorities hold outstanding warrants for Pack’s arrest charging him with Burglary, Receiving Stolen property, and Violation of Parole. He has what detectives describe as a “lengthy criminal history”. Anyone with any information regarding Pack’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office.
