Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
At approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday night, September 27, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Taylortown Loop Road near the Ranger community in response to a report of a shooting. The victims reported that after a physical confrontation stemming from a domestic dispute, a man subsequently identified as one Wallace Brookshire, age 63, of Brookshire Road, retrieved a handgun and that a number of shots were fired before Brookshire fled the scene. Deputies searched the community for Brookshire as detectives and crime scene specialists collected statements and physical evidence from the scene of the shooting. Detectives charged Brookshire with Aggravated Assault and other firearms related offenses, as well as trespassing and damaging property. He remains in jail pending bond proceedings.
