Search of Plainville Residence Yields Illegal Firearm, Drugs, Evidence of Animal Cruelty; One Arrested
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
On Tuesday afternoon, January 25, deputy sheriffs and officers from the local Georgia Department of Community Supervision (DCS) conducted a probationary search at 140 Earl Street in Plainville. The search yielded an illegally modified (“sawed off”) shotgun, and methamphetamine. The officers also discovered a small dog with it’s muzzle tied tightly shut with a plastic ‘zip tie’. The occupant, Johnny Nino, age 26, of that address, was arrested at the scene without incident. He is in jail facing charges of drug possession, weapons violations, and aggravated cruelty to animals. The dog was turned over to Animal Control. Nino was serving a sentence on probation for a previous felony conviction in a neighboring county.
