Severe Weather Predicted for Northwest Georgia
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Announces:
“For the second time in as many weeks, Northwest Georgia is under the threat of severe weather. The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts the possibility of strong storms with heavy rain, high winds, damaging hail, and tornadoes in our part of the state. Senior Sheriff’s Office staff members are closely monitoring the rapidly evolving weather situation. Extra deputies and storm-ready vehicles will continue to be deployed in anticipation of severe weather here. Citizens are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel, have a designated ‘safe place’ in which to retreat in the event of a dangerous storm, keep flashlights and cellular telephones available and charged, and to monitor weather reports via the NWS and commercial media outlets.”
