Sheriff Announces Citizens’ Firearms Safety & Familiarization Training Class
Sheriff Mitch Ralston and his training staff will be hosting another Citizens’ Firearms Safety & Familiarization Training Class at the Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, March 26th, 2016. The class is for interested adults and will include instruction on basic firearms safety, firearms related laws in Georgia, and basic familiarization and actual use of the firearm. Participants should bring their firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition. There will be a morning session beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at noon, and an afternoon session lasting from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Participants may choose to attend either session. The training is provided free of charge. Anyone interested should call Major Mike Jones at 706-879-5494, or 706.629.1244 to pre-register, as space will be limited and previous classes have filled quickly. Sheriff Ralston said that the level of support and enthusiasm for the training has been very high in the public, and that he and his staff look forward to providing this service to our community.
