Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

On Thursday, July 23rd, Sheriff Mitch Ralston and staff hosted a self defense seminar at the Sheriff’s Office for students who will be attending college soon. The class of a dozen Gordon County student received coaching from Sheriff’s Office staff instructors in defensive tactics, mental preparation and mindset, and situational awareness. The course was offered especially to students attending college as new freshmen. The students had the opportunity to use the same equipment used in regular training by Sheriff’s staff members. Sheriff Ralston said, ” It was wonderful to have this opportunity to show these students some methods of keeping themselves safe, and raising their awareness of their surroundings when they leave here for college. My staff had a great time and enjoyed  working with each of them. We are very proud of all of our students here in Calhoun and Gordon County and wish them all the best.”
