Sheriff’s Honor Guard Representatives Meet Irish Ambassador

The Gordon County Sheriff’s Honor Guard was invited Wednesday (May 28) to a reception in Atlanta honoring the Irish Ambassador to the United States, the Honorable Anne Anderson. Ambassador Anderson addressed the Irish Chamber of Atlanta concerning Irish -U.S. relations, tourism, and Irish history. Ambassador Anderson was appointed to her post in August, 2013. Prior to her posting as ambassador to the US, she served in the United Nations. She is a native of County Tipperary, Ireland. The Sheriff’s Honor Guard was included in the reception for their participation in Atlanta’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parades and significant recognition of the Scots-Irish heritage of North Georgia.
