Sheriff’s Office Charges Six With Drug Trafficking, Conspiracy, During 5 Month Investigation

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

In March, 2023, Sheriff’s detectives initiated an investigation into a organized drug trafficking operation in and about Gordon County involving methamphetamines, opiates, and prescription narcotics. The operation involved persons in Resaca, Newtown, Oostanaula and other communities. During the course of the 5 month investigation, detectives and other deputy sheriffs executed seven search warrants, conducted two probationary searches, a number of vehicle stops/searches, as well gathering large amounts of documented communications and electronic evidence via data extraction from electronic communications devices. Many witnesses were interviewed, and many hours of surveillance, both physical and electronic, were involved.

As a result of this investigation, six defendants have been arrested and charged with a variety of drug related and conspiracy offences:

Steven Jerome Pasley, (March 2, 2023), age 48, of 129 Holly Drive SW Calhoun, charged with  2 counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine, and a variety of other drug related offenses,

 

April Barton, ( July 18, 2023), age 51, of 165 Main Street, Calhoun, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine and a variety of other drug related offenses,

 

Delbert J. Barton, (July 18, 2023), ae 71, of 165 Main Street, Calhoun, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, and a variety of other drug related offenses,

 

Dusty Zane Hall, (July 31, 2023), age 39, of 190 Iracille Lane, Calhoun, charged with Possession of Fentanyl and Conspiracy to Traffic Methamphetamine,

 

Joshua Taylor, (July 31, 2023), age 40, of 1516 Echota Place Apt. 13, Dalton, charged with Possession of Fentanyl,

 

Leah Anne Mayer, (August 3, 2023), age 41, of 149 Iracille Lane, Calhoun, charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute, and a variety of other drug related charges involving prescription narcotics,

 

All defendants remain in jail except Delbert Barton who has posted bond.
