Three Arrested in Connection With Residential Burglary

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

On Wednesday, January 29, deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a private residence on Firetower Road near Calhoun in response to the report of a burglary. The victim reported the theft of tools and household items. Crime scene detectives followed footprints in the snow from the burglarized house to another residence nearby. Detective approached the occupants and developed evidence which led to the arrest  3 persons:

Carliesa Promise Chasteen, age 27, Glenn Douglas Garland Jr., age 32, and Jeremy Dewayne Lockard, age 29, all of 211 Faye Lane, Calhoun, all of whom were charged with Burglary in the First Degree. Garland was arrested near the scene, but Chasteen and Lockard remain at large. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Chasteen and Lockard are urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 706.629.1244. Several items believed to have been taken in the burglary were recovered by Sheriff’s officers and returned to the rightful owner.

The detectives who conducted this particular investigation commented that, “obviouslysome defendants leave more clues than other defendants”.

UPDATE,  Wednesday, February 5, 2014, the remaining two defendants in this case, Carliesa Promise Chasteen and Glenn Douglas Garland Jr were both apprehended last night (Feb 4) by deputy sheriffs near Calhoun without incident. All 3 defendants are in jail pending bond proceedings.
