Two Calhoun Men Arrested in Case Involving Juvenile
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
On June 4, 2013, Sheriff’s detectives received a report of a statutory rape involving a 14 year old female said to have occurred June 2/3, 2013 near Calhoun. An investigation was initiated and two Calhoun men were subsequently arrested. Dylan Cochran, age 18, of 112 Oak Hill Drive, Calhoun, Georgia turned himself in to authorities on July 4, 2013 and was booked on charges of Statutory Rape and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (2 counts) and subsequently released on a $7,000.00 property bond. Jason Bennefield, age 21, of 109 Henderson Bend Road, Calhoun, Georgia turned himself in to authorities on July 4 as well, and was booked on charges of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (2 counts). Bennefield was released on a $5,000.00 property bond. No other arrests are expected in this case.
