Vehicular Pursuit Ends in Arrest of Calhoun Man

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

Yesterday afternoon (December 7), a deputy sheriff attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle on Interstate 75 in southern Gordon County. The vehicle immediately fled and a pursuit involving a number of deputies as well as the State Patrol ensued. The driver, subsequently identified as one Fabian Capistran, age 22 of 201 Larkspur Drive, Calhoun, exited the Interstate and led officers over a number of secondary roads and eventually onto Hopkins Drive in northern Bartow County. Although Capistran abandoned his car and fled on foot into a wooded area, he was quickly apprehended by deputies who also had K9s. He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the county jail, charged with Felony Fleeing/Attempting to Elude Peace Officers as well as a number of traffic-related charges and misdemeanor drug possession.
