COVID 19 Cases Among Jail Staff and Inmate

Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:

A jail inmate has tested positive for COVID 19. This inmate had been sent for medical treatment for an unrelated condition. This inmate is hospitalized in a regional facility for the original medical complaint. Some other inmates have complained of fever, and have been tested. The results are pending. As of this morning, two members of the jail staff have tested positive for COVID 19. Other staff members have been tested and results are pending. All staff members who’ve either received positive results or are awaiting test results have been put on leave. Inmates who have exhibited symptoms and/or have been tested, have been quarantined. Jail staff continues to undertake decontamination measures within the jail. The jail medical staff is working to identify and treat any inmates with any symptoms. All jail inmates have access to communications by telephone and email, although visitation in person remains restricted. The sheriff and staff are committed to the safety and care of the inmate population and jail staff.
