Calhoun Woman Arrested After Outburst, Altercation in Superior Court
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
Shortly after 9 a.m. this morning (May 2), as Gordon County Superior Court was in session, a local woman became irate and began shouting and disturbing court proceedings. The presiding judge ordered deputy sheriffs to remove the woman, but as they attempted to do so she began violently resisting. Three deputy sheriffs forcibly removed her from the court room. One deputy was kicked a number of times during the disturbance. She was restrained, removed from the court house under arrest and taken to the county jail. The case being heard at the time was the State of Georgia vs. George Russell Pass, Indictment No. 23580 (5 counts of Stalking). Deputies understand that the woman was the wife of the defendant in that case. The woman was identified as Jennifer Lynn Pass, age 49, of 232 Brian Drive SW, Calhoun, Georgia. The disturbance took place in the presence of several officers-of-the-court and a number of other witnesses, and was captured on security video. Ms. Pass was subsequently charged with Felony Obstructing Law Enforcement Officers. Bond was set at the time of the incident at $1500.00 by the Superior Court. The case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
