Deputies Arrest Tennessee Man For Trafficking in Methamphetamine

Tuesday morning, March 19, deputy sheriffs assigned to the Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) stopped a suspicious automobile on Interstate 75 near Calhoun. A subsequent search of the Chevrolet ‘Tahoe’ revealed several ounces of methamphetamine in a hidden compartment. The occupant, identified as one Joe Travis Griffith, age 43, of Corlyton, Tennessee was arrested at the scene without incident. He was charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and remains in jail pending bond. The ‘street value’ of the undiluted methamphetamine was estimated at $4000.00.
