Two Johnson City, Tennessee Men Arrested For Drug Trafficking
Sheriff Mitch Ralston Reports:
At about 1 p.m. yesterday (May 7), deputy sheriffs from the Community Crime Prevention Unit (CCPU) were on routine patrol near Calhoun when they stopped a suspicious automobile from Tennessee for traffic violations. A deputy smelled the strong odor of raw marijuana inside the car and a subsequent search of the automobile revealed over a pound of processed marijuana inside a back pack. Deputies also discovered and seized several thousands of dollars in cash. Both occupants, Brian Keith Long, age 38, and Kenneth Alan McKinney, age 42, both of Johnson City, Tennessee, were arrested at the scene without incident. The automobile in question was subsequently seized for forfeiture proceedings and inventoried. The inventory revealed over an ounce of cocaine. Both defendants were charged with Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, and Trafficking in Cocaine. They are being held in the county jail pending bond.
